On September 15th H&T Presspart, a global leader in the manufacture of respiratory drug delivery devices and components, will be attending the Inhalation Insights conference in Abu Dhabi on the 15th September. The conference is intended for the pharma industry with an interest in dry powder inhaler (DPI) technology.

H&T Presspart’s Dr Ebert will be delivering a speech entitled ‘Dry Powder Inhalers: High Performance vs. Affordability. What’s it going to be?’ which is set to explain when treating Asthma and COPD, two main device types come to mind: Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs) and Dry Powder Inhalers (DPIs). Since new developments mainly use the physical form of dry powders, we want to take a closer look at what is available on the market, affordable and how the future of new devices might look like.

H&T Presspart will be showcasing our innovative PowdAir Plus dry powder inhaler, a patented capsule-based DPI, ideal for developing markets because of its advanced simplicity, ease of use and affordability.

PowdAir Plus

Healthcare costs are rising, creating challenges, which can only be mastered with new and innovative solutions.  PowdAir Plus is a patented capsule-based DPI, ideal for these markets because of its advanced simplicity, ease of use and affordability. The sleek design of PowdAir Plus makes this inhaler very easy to use. It’s highly portable, and delivers an effective dose of medication with each capsule. Compatible with all capsule types (gelatine and HPMC) in size 3, it can be used with any dry powder medicines.

Most other DPIs have been designed for developed markets and incorporate multiple components and complex mechanics. In contrast, PowdAir Plus is a complete unit with no metal or separate parts. Neat and compact, its novel all-plastic, four-component design minimises manufacturing assembly and production costs, while improving the device’s resilience to frequent use.
