R&D Laboratory Manager

Location: Inhalation Product Technology Centre (Blackburn, UK)

R&D Laboratory Manager

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, Review and Approve Study Protocols and Reports, ensuring that all work is performed to an issued Protocol
  • Coordinating with the team to maintain accurate records and providing peer review for others, to ensure analytical results are recorded and reported
  • To plan the laboratory activities with immediate reports and ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner
  • Present and communicate project results and findings clearly and effectively to internal and external customers
  • Ensuring documentation, including Standard Work Instructions, is reviewed in a timely manner, in line with the IPTC document review procedure
  • Performing 5S Audits and compiling KPI data

Key capabilities:

  • Ability to prioritise and adapt quickly to changing project needs, assignments and environments
  • Should be able to plan and lead work to timescale and budget using available resources
  • Good communication and managerial skills should be able to motivate the team to achieve department and organisation goals.
  • Should have 10 plus years’ experience of working in a pharmaceutical or similar laboratory setting
  • Should have experience of testing and understanding of  inhalation devices
  • Should have led a team of skilled and experienced analysts
  • Should have a working knowledge of good laboratory practices
  • Should have a working knowledge of chromatography software, e.g. Chromeleon or Empower
