CAD Designer

Location: H&T Presspart Tarragona, Spain

As CAD designer, you will design our new products for drug delivery and primary packaging systems we develop in strong collaboration with our Biotech and Pharma customers. You will combine a strong background in product design of complex assemblies and mechanisms with engineering education and a creative and innovative mindset.

Your Key Responsibilities

In your new role you will work in the design new products, platforms and accelerators by:

  • Developing the design activities according program timelines with strong customer orientation
  • Generating creative design concepts which address the user needs and value drivers
  • Creating an appealing form factor and industrial design
  • Designing polymer, metal, glass and rubber components, assemblies and mechanisms (potentially also integrating electronic units)
  • Defining appropriate component materials for the functions and regulatory needs
  • Developing the detailed product design ensuring all design input requirements are met
  • Collaborating in the user and design risk assessment and the identification of the Critical Characteristics
  • Analysing the tolerance stack up
  • Generating the versions and releases of the 3D models, drawings and BOM and managing those in the PLM system
  • Collaborating with process engineering for the implementation of the DFM / DFA needs in the design
  • Virtually verifying the design before prototyping by means of simulations (e.g. mold flow, mechanical, CFD)
  • Implementing design changes and improvements by understanding the feedback of the design characterization, verification and validation testing

Your Key Capabilities

  • Master’s degree or diploma degree with major focus in an engineering related discipline with min. 3 years of industry experience in product design, preferably in devices for the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong creativity and innovative mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in CAD systems (NX or Creo is preferred)
  • PLM software user (preferred Teamcenter). Experience in the implementation of the system or administrator knowledge is valuable.
  • Knowledge in rheological (Moldex 3D preferred) and mechanical simulations. CFD experience will be valuable.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills in English
